Mo Bros Are Taking Over the World
In honor of Prostate Cancer awareness month, Tuesday kicked off the International phenomenon known as Movember! Since 2003 the Movember movement has raised $174 million...so far. In 2010 in the US alone, over 64,500 participants got involved in Movember raising $7.5 million. The idea behind the movement started out as a bet between friends in Melbourne Australia to see who could grow the best moustache in the duration of one month. The following year these 4 friends took a cue from what women were accomplishing with going pink for breast cancer awareness and decided to make this a yearly event while raising awareness around men`s health issues.
During the month of November, men around the world will grow moustaches to raise funds generated toward building mindfulness of prostate cancer and other cancers that affect men. To get involved men will have to start the month off clean shaven and register at www.movember.com. This foundation is partnered with the Prostate Cancer Foundation and LIVESTRONG to not only increase awareness but also to educate and create everlasting bonds between survivors and fund research.
